1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Zenerly (www.zenerly.com), the maker of WePDF ("WePDF," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover the WePDF website, the WePDF web app and the WePDF Android app (together, the "Service"). The Android app is also covered by our End User License Agreement. By using the Service you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. The Service
WePDF provides tools to scan, merge, split, compress, convert, sign, edit, redact, crop, protect and otherwise work with PDF and image files. The Service is free to use and does not require an account. The tools run on your device — in your browser or in the Android app — so we do not receive or store your documents. Optional features, such as Google Drive backup, use your own Google account.
3. Who can use WePDF
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
4. Your files
Your documents and everything you create with WePDF remain yours; we claim no ownership of them and, because they are processed on your device, we never receive a copy. You are responsible for having the right to use and change the files you work with, and for keeping backups. Files stored in the web app live in your browser's storage and can be lost if you clear your browsing data or use a private window; files in the Android app can be lost if you uninstall it or clear its storage.
5. Checking your results
Please review any output before relying on it, especially for legal, financial or official use. In particular:
- Conversions between PDF, Word, Excel and images, and text recognition (OCR), may not reproduce every detail of the original.
- Redact removes the content under the boxes you draw, but only what you mark. Check every page — including headers, footers and images — before sharing a redacted file.
- Crop hides the parts of a page outside the area you keep; it does not delete them. Use Redact to remove sensitive content.
- Signatures added with WePDF are images placed on the page, not certificate-based digital signatures. Whether they are accepted is up to the person or organisation receiving the document.
- If you forget a password you set with Protect, we cannot recover it or the file.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright and privacy;
- use it to remove protection from documents you are not entitled to open or change;
- interfere with, overload or attack the Service or the servers that deliver it;
- copy, resell or misrepresent the Service as your own, or use WePDF's name or logo without permission.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos and software, belongs to Zenerly and its licensors. WePDF includes open-source components (such as pdf-lib, PDF.js, qpdf and Tesseract), which are provided under their own licences. Nothing in these Terms gives you rights to our trademarks.
8. Third-party services
Some features rely on third-party services — for example Google Drive for optional backup, Google Play for installing and updating the Android app, and Google AdMob for optional ads in the Android app. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep WePDF available and reliable, but we may change, add or remove features, or suspend or discontinue the Service, at any time. We may also block access by anyone who breaks these Terms. Because your documents stay on your device, they remain available to you there.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied — including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that its output will be accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Zenerly will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, documents, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us for it, if any.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Zenerly is established, and disputes will be handled by its courts — except where the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim or rely on its laws there.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and tell you in the Service if a change is significant. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
